In a recent episode of the Teju Babyface Deep Dive Podcast hosted by comedian Olateju Oyelakin, aka Teju Babyface, veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) acknowledged that it is exceptionally difficult for entertainers to remain faithful in their marriages.
RMD explained that male celebrities who are married are often targeted by desperate women who try to lure them into infidelity.
He stated, “Due to the nature of our work, it is very hard for entertainers to be faithful in marriage. Every one of us is married, which makes us the target. Women are relentless in their pursuit, similar to Delilah or Jezebel, carefully planning and preparing to take down the symbol of authority or the image of God in any home. It’s like assassinating a General on the battlefield; once he falls, the battalion scatters. Their mission is to dismantle the head of the family.”
RMD emphasizes that remaining faithful requires his wife, Jumobi Adegbesan, to fully comprehend the challenges he faces. He believes that if his wife is not aware of the adversities, it leaves room for vulnerability.
Richard Mofe-Damijo lost his first wife, talk show host May Ellen ‘MEE’ Mofe-Damijo, in 1996 and is now married to television personality Jumobi Adegbesan.
